As massage therapists it has been essential to our livelihood, to keep our hands in good shape...now after 35 years of using our hands, we are able to continue, pain-free! Here is some tips for preventing, arthritis, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow to name a few: With left hand Stretch right hand and wrist so that palm is facing up and wrist is as close to a 90 degree angle as possible with left hand pressing on right fingers holding the stretch for 1 minute. Do the same on other hand...making sure to hold the stretch for a full minute to allow the muscles to lengthen. Next, make fists with hands and open fingers one at a time, maintaining long straight fingers and stretching wide. Open and close at least 5xs. Make circles with your wrists. Shake out both hands and feel the circulation has increased! Do this whenever you think of it throughout the day...waiting in line, walking, etc. You will also be activating many meridians and reflex points that run through the hands and finger tips! More on that later! Now go out and clap your hands without worry!
